Restaurant and pizzeria in a youthful and familiar space
The San Lorenzo area in Rome is a mix of so many different souls, we find so many students from the Sapienza University that is nearby. Even more striking and reaffirming is the popular soul, the one that tried to hinder the fascist march in Rome in 1922, this is also the meeting point for artists, writers and intellectuals. A building in via dei Sabelli shows to this day the marks of the bombing of 1943, and of course so many tourists who stay in the B&Bs in the area.
The Saporito restaurant started in 2021 in via Tiburtina, one of the main roads in this area and is a meeting point for the inhabitants of that area.
There are many particularities that we liked about this restaurant, the kitchen is always open, the desserts are homemade and with our own recipe and are very good, the prices are affordable, and you can watch football matches with the televisions installed in the store.
The menu is quite extensive, there are dishes for all tastes, first courses and pizza are the masters but you can also find hamburgers and chips and various second courses.
Don’t expect to find important wines, we are still in a pizzeria, but despite everything there is some good wine in the selection, the Langhe Arneis Blangè Bio is an example.
In the end Saporito amazed us with its simplicity and light-heartedness that it offers to its customers, but perhaps most of all we were amazed by the energy and enthusiasm of the family that started this business. The other restaurants tried out for this project are mostly managed by entrepreneurs who have been in the restaurant business for decades, but here you can breathe a different atmosphere, there is passion and sacrifice at the same time, his son Marco is the example, when he tells us about the many hours at work he does it with a smile on his lips. Really good, continue on this path, the sacrifices and the quality of the work always pay off.
