Piperno

In a very intimate square, Piperno has been offering traditional Roman cuisine for three generations.

Elegant, refined and luxury, all adjectives that you hardly find combined with Roman cuisine, which instead go perfectly with this place. When you enter to Piperno it’ll seems to you that you are in a distinguished english tea room, it will be because there is never any confusion or perhaps because of the waiters all dressed strictly in white jackets. You will also be able to admire large paintings on the walls with more than 250 years, which they undoubtedly add that artistic touch. The restaurant has been located on the edge of the Jewish ghetto since 1860 but the family that is now carrying on this business is from Amatrice, the chef Pier Paolo Boni recall the 2016 earthquake with infinite pain, he left a piece of his heart there, but the humanity of this person can be understood not only from his stories, but also from all the customers, even foreigners, who before living the restaurant must greet him, thank him for what they have eaten and have a chat like old friends like to do.

The quality of the dishes is extremely high, the menu is not very extensive (this is due to a choice of restaurant) fried foods are their specialty, among the first courses I recommend you to try ricotta and spinach ravioli in milk cream, they are exquisite.
