What is it Roscioli? Roscioli is a delicatessen, a winery, a restaurant, a grocery store, it is all this and much more! Eating at Roscioli is an experience that must be lived and is not that easy to describe, sometimes you will feel like you are in an old grocery store because of the salami and cheese counter, other times it will seem to be in a trendy New York restaurant for the chance to eat at the bar counter. The place is small and pervaded by a general confusion which, however, will not disturb your lunch or dinner. We are in Rome and here confusion is quite common.
If you think the restaurant is fascinating, just wait to open the menu and you will be even happier, the selection of cheeses and hams is endless, we can also find French cheeses and hams of Spanish production. Among the first courses we find many classics, such as carbonara, but there are also more elaborate dishes such as ravioli with oxtail and pecorino cheese. There is also both raw and cooked fish, and to top it off try their exceptional desserts.
I really appreciated the bread served at the table, it comes directly from their oven which is located just 100 meters away from the restaurant, in the basket there is a mix of pizza and various types of bread, all very very good.
