La magia della pasta ai bambini malati di tumore
As we all know pasta is one of the most famous Italian products in the world, nowadays there is no corner of the world that does not know our culinary traditions, our sauces and specialties. For us Italians pasta does not only mean food, it is something that goes beyond, it is a symbol of coexistence, hospitality and above all it is synonymous with home. The world of pasta and what it represents is well known by Alessandra Lauria, a Sicilian girl who made her passion for pasta her work https://alessandralauria.com/.
Alessandra told us how she has always been charmed by cooking, seeing how two simple ingredients as if by magic can turn into something so good. When we asked her how important her origins were for her, she replied that clearly Sicily is her base, her point of reference, but knowledge has an equal importance, it is essential to know how to go beyond our roots if we want to grow and succeed. A lesson that perhaps everyone should learn. Now let’s get to the most important part, Alessandra recently started a project called Smile and Make Pasta. Her goal is to create pasta laboratories within the department of Pediatrics oncology of the National Institute of cancer in Milan.
Alessandra unfortunately was herself a patient of this department at ten years old and therefore knows well that all children, forced into this department, lacks one thing in particular, what she calls ‘tassello casa’ home. This is what pasta laboratories are for, they try to fill that void which for a child is the most important thing.
In the end this was not an interview but a life lesson that taught us and gave us so much. Thank you Alessandra.
